You can sell as much stuff off eBay as you can on eBay just by being aware of the eBay hidden market. You don’t have to violate any eBay rules. The fact is that the items you auction on eBay are, in effect, advertisements for identical or similar goods that you have in inventory but are not currently up for auction on eBay. What you say in your auction ads can encourage or discourage off-eBay transactions. For instance, suppose you’re selling a set of 8 wine glasses on eBay. Someone needs 72. What does he do to get 72 from you?

Even your eBay customers are potential buyers in the hidden market. Suppose, you sell a set of 8 steak knives on eBay. The person decides to give identical sets as Christmas presents. She needs 6 more sets. What does she do to get 6 more sets from you?

The hidden market is cost-effective, because it costs little and has the potential for substantial sales. The risk is that if you don’t closely observe eBay rules, you may find yourself bounced off eBay. But sales in the hidden market can be sought without breaking eBay rules.
